Klik-Union News http://www.klik-union.com Click community news en-us http://blogs.law.harvard.edu/tech/rss Klikmaster It never rains but it pours... http://www.klik-union.com/news.php?id=861 Forgive my lack of activity, i've been contending with a great deal and have truthfully lost all incentive with regards to my online responsibilities. KU isn’t particularly flourishing at the moment, so i’m not too concerned. I figured I at least owed an explanation to those who do visit on occasion, however. Bishie date 861 Klik-Union Updates http://www.klik-union.com/news.php?id=860 I think it's time to sum up a few things that have been going on... There have been some cool additions to the downloads section, from Shabadage's Combo Block Bomber Rush to Wings, a mode7 3D flying engine. Also, I think it's worth noting CsaR's Devlog, where he has published some game mockups. Why not suggest that he makes one of them into a game? ;) I am working on Klik-Union upgrades and new features, I think the forum index needs a bit of optimisation since the latest posts box was implemented. Oh, and it's my birthday. :) Klikmaster date 860 Convention Reports http://www.klik-union.com/news.php?id=859 As most of you already know, this year's Click Convention has come to an end. I'm not all too sure if we'll be able to hold a competition this Christmas, since I may very well not be here to organise it, but if that is the case, we will certainly have one in the new year. Anyway, due to various reasons which I will not disclose, I have decided to call it a day with Smegsoft and instead focus purely on Klik-Union, which soon will be under maintenance due to Klikmaster and I wanting to rid of various problems and features. When KU is finally sorted and is in a seemingly stable state, I plan to get together a competition which should indeed be supported by Clickteam themselves. I know little or nothing about what lies ahead, but I can tell you now that KU does have a future, no matter how big or small it may be. Bishie date 555 Forum Rules Update http://www.klik-union.com/news.php?id=551 I've just updated the forum rules, stating that the use of profane language will not be tolerated. Anyone caught breaking this rule from hereon in will be dealt with swiftly and harshly if necessary. You have been warned. Bishie date 551 Post count problem... http://www.klik-union.com/news.php?id=548 As you may have noticed, over the past few months the post count for every forum on the forum index page has completely halted and despite people posting frequently, the count remains the same. Joe and I have sought help from the likes of those who run phpBB.com, but unfortunately have not received the help we were looking for. The closest we got to knowing what the problem is, was being told that it has got something to do with a modification which was installed sometime previously. Trouble is, we don't know what modification is causing the problem, hence the fact it hasn't been resolved. If either of you have any idea what might be causing the problem and wish to lend a hand, let me know and we’ll sort something out. They’ll certainly be a reward of some sort for the person that can help get this sorted once and for all. Before any new features can be added to KU, various site related problems which have piled up over time need to be sorted, so there is no confliction of any sort when anything new is implemented. Smegsoft, as you may know, is being redesigned by none other than Flava of Ectoprods. From what I gather, the operation is quite minor since all i'm having is the metal work in my hip removed. I should only be in hospital for a day or so, and I won't be out of action for long, so you'll hear from me not long after i'm home. I of course will leave you in the capable hands of Joe and Asparagus. If you have any queries or problems as such, feel free to contact either of them. Unfortunately, due to the server being wiped before we could make a backup, we're now a month or so behind from where we were previously. Unfortunately, in the past 3 months few people have clicked them, which is disappointing really considering the fact that at least 5 people visit daily, all who are perfectly capable of clicking them at least once before they leave. I would appreciate it if you'd take clicking them often into consideration, as it would save me the bother of having to post such a thing in the future. Klikmaster date 346 Whiplash 3D Snowboarding http://www.klik-union.com/news.php?id=341 Yuyu has released a pretty well done 3D Snowboarding game that was made in MMF, which you can download here. It was seemingly done with pseudo-3D and the 3D object in MMF. It has been pulled off really well in my opinion, what with it's professional presentation and multiple game modes. Fear not though, this is only temporary. We will set everything back to how it was once the version of phpBB we are using is updated. I hope visitors who intend to sign up aren’t discouraged by this. (Again) http://www.klik-union.com/news.php?id=292 As you may already know, KU was hacked back on Tuesday which caused quite a lot of problems as we lost all of the posts and forums. Fortunately, I made monthly backups and was able to restore the site to it's original state. Unfortunately, due to the backup being around a month old, all of the recent posts, downloads and members are no more. Thankfully, i've learned from my mistake and in future, will learn to make more recent backups as well as continually updating the version of phpBB this site uses. If you do spot any site errors or problems from now on, do not hesitate to let me know. Bishie date 274 Guy Fawkes Night http://www.klik-union.com/news.php?id=269 Remember remember, the 5th of November. Yep, as you all may have guessed, tonight is Guy Fawkes Night. I myself won't be celebrating this magical evening where people light the sky with dangerous explosives but I wish you good luck if you intend to do so. :P Bishie date 269 A small note... http://www.klik-union.com/news.php?id=265 Those who post games in the downloads section please note that no online browser based games may be submitted. Which means I have to go through hell, once again. This, as you may of guessed, is extremely stressful news for both me and my family. So I’d appreciate it, if you guys supported me through this, because to be honest I really am frightened and need all the help I can get. :( Bishie date 62 New Download: Keep the Ball Up Engine http://www.klik-union.com/news.php?id=61 I've added a small game engine to the downloads. :) Click Here to View Keep the Ball Up Engine Anonymous date 61 New Downloads http://www.klik-union.com/news.php?id=55 Lazarus (CapriceVision) has added three games to the downloads entitled Ghoul Boy, Spyro: Pig of Revenge Beta and Nuns With Guns Click Here to View Ghoul Boy Click Here to View Spyro: Pig of Revenge Beta Click Here to View Nuns With Guns Anonymous date 55 New Poll http://www.klik-union.com/news.php?id=53 A new poll is up on the main page, and it looks to be a bit of a tough one. :P Check it out and get voting, and may the best community win! In the meantime, the forums are up and everythings running smoothly, so... enjoy. Remember, all previous members will have to sign up again, but fear not, its worth it! If you had a custom rank and wish to have it back, let me or Zippy know. Bishie date 9 A Fresh Start http://www.klik-union.com/news.php?id=4 Well, klik-union is now fresh and new. All new. I spent a good set of hours building this place back up from scratch. Not everything from last time is here yet, and there are a few new things even like spell check! We're also now running the latest phpBB build (2.0.10). Its full of security updates and stuff! I decided not to load the old database because it would mess up the new phpBB build to load a 2.0.8 database, and I'd sit here for more hours modifying the database to be compatible. Go ahead and register your names again. If you had a custom title and you want it back, PM me. Anonymous date 4
